Crescent Soil & Water Conservation District
 

Crescent Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural resources of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Charles, and St. John the Baptist parishes. Governed by a dedicated local board and partnered with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS), Crescent SWCD bridges the gap between landowners and vital conservation resources. From helping farmers manage soil health and prevent erosion to assisting coastal communities with water conservation and habitat restoration, the District delivers the expert technical assistance and education needed to ensure a sustainable future for southeast Louisiana.

Eat Local NOLA

     Eat Local NOLA is a community-driven initiative managed by the New Orleans Food Policy Council (NOFPC) designed to celebrate, explore, and strengthen South Louisiana's regional food economy. 

​

      At its core, the program focuses on economic circulation, encouraging residents and visitors to intentionally buy from businesses that source directly from local farmers, fishers, and food artisans to keep dollars within the community.

Imbue Farm is a 5-acre, small-scale regenerative farm nestled in the Lower Coast Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans. Owned and operated by local growers Imani and Allen Miller.

Moving beyond basic aid, this organization provides a foundation for collective land stewardship and environmental strength within our regional food network. We foster autonomy through education and shared resources to nurture a thriving agricultural future.

St. Malo Outpost & Healing Garden

St. Malo Outpost & Healing Garden is a 4000 sq ft urban farm and peaceful oasis in the Hollygrove neighborhood. Grounded in community healing and food sovereignty, the farm shares fresh produce harvests, value-added goods, medicinal plant remedies, and fresh farm eggs directly to neighbors and local food distribution networks.

City Planning Commission's Urban Agriculture Program

The Urban Agriculture Program serves as a direct bridge between local growers and city government agencies to support urban farming and strengthen the local food system. Among its many initiatives, it offers technical assistance, facilitates the quarterly Urban Agriculture Working Group (UAWG), is collaborating to develop the city's first Food & Agriculture Plan, and working to create a land access program for growers.
